The Thursday Group - Monday Sessions

Matthew Crosby is facilitator at The Thursday Group. He is an actor, writer, director and teacher, who has worked in theatre, television and film for many years… mainstage festivals, Australia and Asia, independent and cabaret performance. He is interested to discover where performers take their work and hopes to assist in the journey.

Tessa Marie Luminati has been a collaborator at The Thursday Group for three years and is a performer with a strong commitment to regular training and exploration of new forms of practice development and performance making. She explores image-based work in concert with Thursday Group Training.

The Monday Sessions are a dialogue for performers interested in psychophysical techniques. Using various disciplines of actor training such as Suzuki Training, Grotowski, Stanislavski, Chekhov and variations developed on the floor, we keep our skills sharp and improvise new performance material.

With Matthew Crosby facilitating, during each ten-week block, we co-devise a performance and show work to friends and peers at The Thursday Group studios in North Melbourne.

Touch Improvisation 2023. Monday Sessions will present Falling Heads, a response to Akutagawa Ryunosuke's The Story of a Head that Fell Off November 25 and December 11.
